A wedding DJ in Cyprus who builds an evening, not a playlist
Hi, I am Laszlo, the DJ behind DJ Doppio, and I play weddings and private parties across Cyprus. I am based in Paphos and I travel the whole island, from Paphos to Ayia Napa and everywhere in between.
What decades of weddings taught me
Before I moved to Cyprus, I spent several decades organising and directing weddings in Hungary, more than eight hundred of them. That is where the real skill comes from. Over that many evenings you learn to read a wedding: when music is needed and when quiet is better, what volume suits a given moment, when the room wants to dance and when it would rather talk. I call this intelligent DJing, and it sits behind every choice I make at the decks.
The music comes first
For me the music is the main thing, not me at the microphone. When a moment needs an announcement, I keep it short, clear and calm, and I can do it in Hungarian, English, German or Russian, depending on your guests. Everything flows, and nobody gets a loud host they did not ask for.
A party is not made memorable by the size of the speakers, but by whether the person behind them is paying attention. I follow the evening rather than a fixed list, because a song that fills the floor at eleven would empty it at eight. I am not there to get every single guest dancing at all costs, some people want to talk, some move only to certain songs, and that is perfectly fine. My job is to put the right music in the right moment, for the room in front of me.
Most couples who marry in Cyprus are international, and so are their guests, so the heart of what I play is familiar, danceable music that people already love. If you have your own must-play songs, or a few special tracks from home, you send them to me in advance and I place them where they truly fit.
Distinctive by choice
There is one thing I choose on purpose: I do not want to grow into a big production company, and I do not bring an industrial-size rig. This is a point of view, not a limitation. I want to stay distinctive in this part of the market, and I genuinely enjoy the work. I prepare the music myself, I load in and set up myself, and that is exactly what keeps the whole thing personal and in my own hands. I am Hungarian, my company is registered in the UK, and my main work is marketing and consulting, so I take the planning and the communication seriously too.
