Introduction

I am László Barna, but you can call me Laci. I have been around weddings since I was nine years old, and I never really left: I am a wedding professional and a Hungarian wedding-marketing specialist who has even written a book on the subject. Music, events and the good kind of late nights have been part of my life throughout, and what always fascinated me was how a room becomes a crowd, and an ordinary evening becomes a memory people keep for years.

I started DJing in secondary school and later spent years as a radio presenter, sometimes on air from 8 in the evening until 5 in the morning. In Hungary I played at birthday parties, corporate events and weddings, and along the way I worked alongside some of the country's most experienced wedding DJs. From them I picked up the thing I value most in this craft: the art of building a musical set. It is not about a list of songs, but about which track plays when, in what order and with what transition. That is the difference between a playlist and a DJ. For almost two decades I worked as a master of ceremonies and coordinator: I wrote the run-sheet for and directed more than 800 events and weddings. Over time the constant coordination, travel and responsibility wore me out, and I made a deliberate change of pace. People often ask why I do not take on full weddings in Cyprus, and the honest answer is that I did not want to. Several approached me, but there was only one thing I said yes to: playing music. Today I do what I love and know best: I play.

The name

The Doppio story

Doppio means a double espresso. For years it was the coffee that gave me a real push before a long day or a long night. The idea behind DJ Doppio is the same: good music is like a double espresso. It adds energy, wakes up the body and brings the dance floor to life. That is why there are two coffee beans in place of the letters o in the logo, and why I promise only one thing for certain: let there be dancing.
